zelda.cgb

Hi, I made a C-Gear skin for Pokemon B/W/B2/W2 out of Aaron Diaz’s excellent Zelda game pitch, so I thought I’d share it here too in case anyone else is interested in such things. Note that you’ll need to be able to access your save file on a PC to transfer the .cgb file (I used an NDS Adapter Plus that I got cheaply off ebay, and I used Pokegen (google it) to edit the save file).

Here’s a Pokemon team I EV trained recently!! I have played just about every Pokemon game so far but this is the first time I’ve bothered to EV train some dudes, so I decided to draw a picture of them. What a bunch of cuties!!

Here are a few quick sketches I did whilst getting used to my new Cintiq. It’s a bit trickier than I expected, especially since I could only afford the 12WX so I’m working with a much tinier screen than I am used to, but still, I think this will prove to be a rather useful tool.
left to right, top to bottom: Swallowtail, Link, Duna from Fossil Fighters, Korra, cool long-hair guy with pointy dick, Marten and Claire from QC.
btw most of them are naked because, most people don’t know this, but if you are an artist you can draw whatever you want!! You don’t even have to draw clothes at all if you don’t want to. Use this trick to surprise your friends and taunt your enemies!

Have you seen the latest Wasted Talent comic?? Things are looking grim, but don’t worry, I’ve gotten my hands on the secret extended ending:

PHEW

Hey guys. It’s been a while since I posted a comic or indeed anything else, so here’s an update on what’s going on.

Recently I’ve been dealing with depression again. It wasn’t as bad this time around and I think I’m pretty much through it now, but it’s still depression, right. The causes of it were annoyingly vague too, unlike last time when it pretty obviously followed on from porn addiction and dealing with asshole friends. But yeah, that has been my main obstacle to drawing comics of late. I’ve got a bunch of half-finished projects on my desktop, including that one about dinosaurs that I mentioned earlier this year, and these were part of the problem, I think: because the unfinished works were piling up, I was feeling like I wasn’t accomplishing anything, which further reinforced negative thoughts, and so on etc etc. You know how these ridiculous things go.

In light of this, I’ve decided to set aside all those unfinished projects for a while, and return to them once I’ve gotten some positive habits built up again. For the time being, I’m just going to focus on that spin-off comic I mentioned in a previous post. It’s a nice, short story that I can work away on in managable chunks, and hopefully start to actually enjoy drawing again along the way - especially since most of the story is just people having sex. I realised back when I was drawing this comic that erotica was really the thing that I am most comfortable and satisfied with drawing, not just for the obvious reasons, but also because of some of the more boring intellectual stuff that I harped on about on my blog at around the same time.

So there’s that. I’ve sketched out around 14 pages so far, and I’ll probably sketch the whole thing out before I start drawing it properly, so it won’t be going up straight away but it hopefully isn’t too far off. In the meantime, perhaps you would like to read a short story starring some of the characters from Comical Interlude?? It’s called The Train That Couldn’t Slow Down and I wrote it several years ago, but I’ve heavily rewritten it over the past week because it was rather horrible. Now, though, I think it’s pretty okay??

All right, I guess that’s it for now. I’ll let you know on twitter when I have some more comics to share.

Good news! I salvaged all the files from my broken computer’s hard drive. Of course, my comics and stuff were already backed up on an external drive (two, now), but there was a bunch of other stuff that wasn’t, so it’s good to know there’s no risk of losing it permanently. Now I just have to find out what the actual problem is.
Anyway, I was looking through my art folder and I came across this picture I drew last year for Jess Fink. I don’t think I posted it anywhere (aside from emailing it to her), so, here it is. Maybe you will find it… intriguing??
ETA: oh yes and these dudes also showed up in this comic, so if they look familiar then I guess that is why.

My computer decided to die last week, or at least suffer a greivous injury (not sure what the problem is yet), which has made it manifestly more difficult to complete the comic I was working on. In the meantime, I decided to see what my little slate PC was capable of, drawing-wise. I downloaded a free program called Artweaver, which looks pretty decent but unfortunately there’s wicked lag with each stroke, making drawing in my usual neat-freak style a fairly nightmarish task. The above image is the result of me playing around with it and seeing what I could do, after my first attempts at drawing a comic didn’t go so well, but I’m pretty much just going to give up on this for now. Instead, I’ll simply resort to drawing on “paper”, using a “pencil”, like a common barbarian, until I can wrangle my technology back into working order. I think this might be a good time to sketch out a secret mini-comic series that follows on from Interlude #30??
Now the only question is, what do you call it when you’re shipping your own characters? Pretty sure it’s a synonym for masturbation right
